WHAT’S TO COME…
Once we’re all done, 270 Climbing Park will be one of the most impressive adventure activity centres in the region, and while things are not done yet they’re slowly getting there! We originally planned to open all facilities at the same time, but after suffering various setbacks and being hit by spiralling costs, those plans went by the wayside. We are now opening each of the activities in set phases.

bouldering
On the cards for opening October 2024, the bouldering facilities will feature over 1,200m2 of climbing surfaces across indoors and outdoors, totalling more than 180 blocs, walls ranging up to 4.5m high, a free standing boulder, a unique boulder roof over 12m long, a kilter board, a spray wall plus specialist training gym and warm-up areas. All this, plus an IFSC-spec competition wall within the main climbing arena and a separate dedicated low reach area in the main building, we’ll be able to provide one of the most comprehensive bouldering facilities in the UK.

Not just for the kids, our Fun Climbing zone will provide an exciting area for friends and families and non-experienced vertical enthusiasts of all ages. No previous experience is needed, fun climbing is a great and safe way to get into the sport. With around 30 individually themed vertical challenges in different colours, styles and difficulties. Our Fun Climbing is due to open alongside the Bouldering centre.

The final phase, but it’ll be worth the wait! If all goes to plan, then early 2025 will see the opening of one of the best roped climbing facilities in the country! With around 2,500m2 climbing surface including 17m high walls, 15.5m centrepiece, over 200 routes, around 100 lower-offs, longest direct route of 23m, 30 auto-belay routes, four IFSC speed walls, indoor and outdoor walls, and a dedicated group climbing area… it will be an outstanding venue for both experienced climbers and first-time beginners.

We plan to open our 200+ seater Café in October 2024. With a kitchen serving a range of lovely hot & cold food, snacks and drinks you can choose to relax inside – or if the weather permits then sit outside on the decking and watch the action on the high ropes!
