CLIMBING MANAGER

CLIMBING MANAGER

In preparation for the opening of climbing facilities at 270 Climbing Park this Autumn we’re looking to appoint a fundamental position within the business to help oversee and drive the climbing operations forward.

As our Climbing Manager you will be responsible for heading up our climbing team and the day-to-day activities within our bouldering facilities, whilst also spending time helping to push forward the world-class climbing gym as it is phased in and comes onboard next year. As a highly motivated and dynamic leader, your focus will be to manage, champion, support and develop the team and organise the climbing gyms to ensure we become the best at what we do. And you need to do it in a way that puts customers experiences and everyone’s safety first, whilst keeping an eye on staff performance, controlling budgets, business efficiencies and cost controls. This significant position within the 270 Team is a full-time role with a negotiable salary of around £40k depending on experience.

Deadline for applications for this role is Friday 26th July with interviews taking place shortly afterwards for a start date asap.

HEAD ROUTE SETTER

HEAD ROUTE SETTER

In preparation for the opening of climbing facilities at 270 Climbing Park this Autumn we’re looking to appoint a critically important role within the company to help establish and push forward our climbing facilities!

As Head Route Setter at 270 Climbing you will ultimately be responsible for customers’ climbing experiences on the walls. Primarily focussed on setting on our two roped climbing areas, as well as overseeing the bouldering, you will be working alongside the team you will establish and maintain the quality of our roped climbing gym, ensuring our customers enjoy a range of top class, creative and consistent routes. You will also work with coaching and management teams to ensure both the bouldering and climbing gyms offers something for everyone – from elite athletes to novice beginners; manage internal setting teams (climbing and bouldering) plus external setters; collaborate on in-house competitions and development plans (Squad, NICAS etc); manage holds orders, hardware and resources including the care and maintenance of holds and volumes. This role offers flexible hours with a pro rata FTE salary of £30-£35k depending on experience.

Can you deliver adventure activities and put smiles on faces? We’re on the lookout for multiple Activity Team Members to join us on our exciting high and low ropes course! We’re looking for people who love meeting and delighting customers. If you succeed you will be part of a team delivering some of the most exciting and challenging adventure activities in the country.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver a best in class adventure experience on our high and low ropes course for our customers

  • Adhering to company safety procedures to ensure the welfare of customers and staff

REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 18 years or over, with a right to work in the UK
  • Have effective communication skills, a professional attitude, and a flexible approach to working
  • Be professional and comfortable working under pressure and during busy periods
  • Due to the nature of the role, weekend work is essential so successful applicants must be available for most weekends.

MOBILE CLIMBING EVENT MANAGERS

MOBILE CLIMBING EVENT MANAGERS

Would you like to be part of the UK’s largest Mobile Activities team? We’re on the lookout for multiple Mobile Climbing Event Managers to join us for our busy May to October season. We’re looking for people who love meeting and delighting customers. If you succeed you will be working within a small team delivering activities and events for 270 Climbing to ensure we put smiles on faces by delivering the best, mobile adventure activities in the country.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key point of contact at events, managing relationships with organiser/site/event and company team members
  • Overseeing a small team, being responsible for their performance, presentation and welfare
  • Delivering a great activity to our clients in line with company expectations and operational policies
  • Transporting the equipment to and from the events

REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 18 years or over, with a right to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving License
  • Be comfortable driving vehicles and large trailers (or happy to be trained)
  • Great at leading a team
  • Have effective communication skills, a professional attitude, and a flexible approach to working
  • Be professional and comfortable working under pressure at events.
  • Due to the nature of the role, weekend work is essential so successful applicants must be available for most weekends. We visit a wide number of events so this can involve early starts and long rewarding days and some overnight stays.

    MOBILE ACTIVITY TEAM MEMBERS

    MOBILE ACTIVITY TEAM MEMBERS

    Looking for one-off or occasional work over the summer? Need something without the commitment to regular hours to help top up your income now and again? Love working outdoors? Like meeting people? We travel all over the country with our mobile activities to private and public venues and events and we need people to help operate our activities on a sporadic ‘as & when’ basis. For example, we may have no requirements one week, then have an event over a weekend needing a couple of staff to help.

    REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • 17 years or over, with a right to work in the UK
    • Customer service experience and good communication skills
    • An energetic, professional attitude and a flexible approach to working
    • Previous experience of working with children (desirable but not essential)
    • DBS will be required (this will be conducted and paid for by ourselves)
    • Knowledge of climbing/caving is an advantage, but no experience is needed as full on the job training will be provided.
