Great news – we’re now a member of the Independent Climbing Wall Collective!
If you haven’t heard of the Independent Climbing Wall Collective (ICWC), it’s a brand-new network, launched earlier this month, made up of a small, but growing, collection of not-for-profit and independent climbing centres from across the UK.
It’s been in the background for a little while now, but we’re hugely excited to be part of this fantastic initiative. This is an exciting step forward for independent climbing walls, and we’re proud to be part of it.
What this means…
- If you’re an existing member, or purchase any of our memberships at 270 in the future, you don’t have to do anything, you will also be automatically enrolled to the ICWC.
- One of the brilliant benefits of being a member of a ICWC wall, is that it unlocks one credit each month which can be used to get free entry to any other ICWC wall in the country!
- This means our members can visit any other ICWC centre for free – and other ICWC centre members can visit 270 for free!
- When visiting other ICWC walls, members will need to complete any centres waivers, adhere to their check-in processes and pass any respective competency checks.
Along with ourselves, there’s currently around half a dozen other walls in the collective, but it’s early days with membership steadily increasing and the amount of centre’s are involved expected to double by the end of the year. So, if you are a member at any ICWC wall, and you find yourself in another part of the country for whatever reason and looking for somewhere to climb, there’s a growing network of walls you can visit at for free!
